Kiwi kids news quiz
On the kiwi kids news quiz I got 40% it was hard some of the things I didn't even know happened. Which really sucks for me but here are my results

KKN welcome to Hogwarts
As you all might of guessed I really like harry potter and so I was so excited that this was up on the KKN website
Have you ever wished that you would one day receive that special acceptance letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Well don’t give up hope just yet!Thanks to a team of dedicated Harry Potter fans, you can now enrol and study at Hogwarts online.Through this online school, you can now attend magic classes, get to know other witches and wizards, sleep in the Hogwart’s dorms and choose your own house (come on Gryffindor!)After registering, students receive their acceptance letter signed by the Headmistress Professor McGonagall before heading to Diagon Alley to collect first year books.Don’t confuse this as a game guys! This is a serious education for the witches and wizards of our world. Students are required to submit homework, essays and assignments which are marked and graded.To graduate to the following year of study, students must pass exams for each of their subjects – so study is required for a magical graduation!The site is known as Hogwardsishere and students must be 13 or older to enrol, please also ask permission from a parent before enrolling at Hogwarts!

Public health experts are saying that unhealthy drinks should be taken out of Saturday sport.A recent study from the Otago University has shown that many of the sports drinks children use on Saturday are filled with sugar.Most children think the drinks were good for them because they were packaged and advertised as helping people play sport better.The lead researcher, Moira Smith, said such drinks were putting children at risk of obesity and tooth decay.Dr Smith said children who played Saturday morning sport do not need sports drinks for extra energy or re-hydration.The say that for any activity up 90 minutes long water is the best option for children.

Kiwi kids news- Love bridge collapses in Pairs
OH NO!!
A section of the famous Pont Des Arts bridge has collapsed.
The bridge is known as the ‘love bridge’ and it collapsed under the weight of thousands of padlocks attached to it.The Pont Des Arts footbridge in Paris is completely covered with so called ‘love locks’. Every year, thousands of couples write their initials on locks and attach them to the side of the bridge.
But part of the railing fell away under the pressure of the growing number of locks attached to it.
Police were forced to hurry tourists off the bridge and close it down.
Will this be the end of the lovers bridge we will have to wait for further reports

Kiwi kids News Beached whale could explode
Do you like things exploding? well if you are a whale lover I think you should block you ears because a washed up blue whale was found in Newfoundland in the Canadian Islands and it could explode at any time now after the whale died weeks ago it washed up in the Trout river. Its normal body size is 25 meters long but the whales body has swollen up to twice it body size that is really sad I know the authorities are trying to move the body but it is a hard job because the whales body can blown up at any time.

Kiwi Kids News- Underwater concert
What- The worlds first underwater concert is touring around the UK it has speakers and lights above and in the water
When- They are touring the UK in 2014
Why- People with hearing problems who attend the concert say that it is easier to hear the music from underwater than above.
How- It is an art project that is known as Wet Sounds.

Kiwi kids news - Rare flower blossoms
One of the worlds rarest flowers have bloomed in Auckland New Zealand The flower is called the Titan Arum Flower has opened fully on a Sunday In Auckland's Wintergarden. The flower is about 2.5m high and is called an Amorphophallus Titanum. It is also known as the corpse flower, because the smell it gives off is like rotting skin. Its smell is strong enough to spread for two to three kilometers, attracting insects the plant needs to pollinate it. The flower is from the Sumatra Forests in Indonesia and blooms once every seven to 10 years. The huge flower bud began opening about 2pm on Saturday.

Kiwi Kids News Once in a hundred year storm hits Canterbury
A huge storm has hit Canterbury and lots of people have had to evacuate their houses and go and stay in other houses causing slips and cutting the power for lots of family's. MetService said 160mm of rain had fallen on Lyttelton in the past 24 hours. Police have had to evacuate around 19 households from three streets after a landslip and the fire services have received 187 called between 6am and 4pm. The storm is blazing up the country, bringing gale force winds to the lower North Island. A number of schools across Christchurch were forced to close due to the extreme weather.

Kiwi kids news- Wasp attack
Wasp Attack
In Nelson at Tuhunanui beach there was a wasp attack an the wasps put about nine people in hospital. Some of those nine people are very very injured. Whilst Supervising a group from Nelson's Victory Primary School, a 61 year old grandmother was also in the wasp attack and she is currently in hospital with a serious condition. Two Kids That are 7 and 8 were also in hospital because of the attack the School were doing a class treasure hunt and they disturbed the nest and that is what caused the attack.

Baby Zebra born at Chester Zoo
Who The people who were involved where a little baby Gervy Zebra and the workers at Chester zoo.
What A very rare type of Zebra was born in Chester zoo in England and the zebra is very endangered
Where It happened at Chester Zoo
How It Was born with brown stripes that turn black when they get older
The Baby Zebra is now endangered because of lack of water and people hunting for there skins there is about 2,500 Gervy Zebra left in the wild.

93 year old man seeing his 64 year old son for the first time
Who- A 93 year old man from South Korean man.
What- A 94 year old South Korean Man has just met his 64 year old son for the first time.
When- they Were separated over 60 years ago
Why- They were separated because of the Korean War.
How- During the Korean war a man was separated from his pregnant wife.
